Jane Machin

Born and bred in Newcastle-under-Lyme, I was Licensed as a Reader in 1994 and came to worship at St Andrews in 2013, where I met up again with some school friends.  Worshipping at a Church outside the local area showed me the importance of being part of the Community with whom I worship and, having been Confirmed in St Andrews, it felt like coming home.

As I grew up, Church life was central to our Family life and I have always had an unshakeable faith in God and a desire to serve Him. When life is difficult I find comfort in the verse “Be still and know that I am God” (Psalm 46:10) and it is in the stillness that I feel closest to God.
